Unlike the simple term “dumpling” might suggest, Chinese ‘jiaozi’ involve a series of intricate steps: kneading the dough, rolling the wrappers, and wrapping the filling — each requiring skill and patience. For someone who doesn’t usually cook, every stage can be a challenge, and mistakes are easy to make.

Ever since I was a child, I’ve been captivated by the sound, speed, and precision of racing machines — and by the beauty of products born from engineering and imagination.
Visually, the film explores the collision of colorful paint — symbolizing motion, energy, and emotion — with the classic color palettes of iconic sports cars. The result is a striking fusion of art and speed, where fluid color meets mechanical perfection.
Although Australia no longer manufactures cars, my passion for automotive design has never faded. Chromatic Speed is both a creative experiment and a love letter to the timeless allure of the automobile.
